Today we welcome Jean-Honoré Fragonard's painting "Young Girl Reading" into the galleries, on loan from the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. The painting exhibits Fragonard’s brilliant handling of color and paint, seen in the execution of the girl’s dress, the luxurious pillow she leans against, and even the slashes of black representing the lines of text that so absorb her. #NowOnView #Fragonard -- Jean-Honoré Fragonard, “Young Girl Reading,” 1770.
